Empowering Educators to Drive Sustainable Innovation
Educators play a central role in shaping how future professionals understand and respond to global challenges. In the Fashion and Textile Industry, the transition toward more sustainable and regenerative systems requires not only technological innovation but also new forms of knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking. Higher education institutions are therefore uniquely positioned to lead this transformation.
However, many educators face challenges when integrating sustainability and regenerative entrepreneurship into their teaching. While awareness of environmental issues has increased, there is still limited access to structured curricula, teaching materials, and pedagogical frameworks specifically focused on regenerative entrepreneurship in fashion and textiles. This gap can make it difficult for educators to confidently introduce these concepts into their courses.
The GEN-C project addresses this challenge by focusing directly on educators. By providing dedicated training, learning materials, and digital resources, the project supports educators in developing the competencies needed to teach regenerative entrepreneurship effectively. This approach recognizes that empowering educators can create long-term impact, as they influence generations of students entering the fashion and textile sector.
Through collaborative development and pilot activities, the project will help educators experiment with innovative teaching methods and integrate regenerative concepts into their existing courses. By strengthening educators’ knowledge and teaching capacity, GEN-C aims to support a broader transformation in how entrepreneurship is taught within the fashion and textile ecosystem.
